Why in SEL learning is it important to give Authority to the Student’s Subjectivity?

In Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs, it is essential to give authority to the student’s subjectivity because it allows them to develop a greater sense of self-awareness and self-regulation. SEL is an approach to education that focuses on teaching students how to manage their emotions, form positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

When students are given authority over their subjectivity, it means that their experiences, thoughts, and feelings are valued and acknowledged. This can lead to a greater sense of self-worth and confidence, which can help students to become more engaged and motivated learners.
